MGR Racing Makes Plans for ASC's Race at Infineon Raceway
Phoenix, AZ, September 23, 2005. After a successful Summer test at the St. Johns Grand Prix during the past Labor Day Weekend, Team MGR Racing is now getting ready for the next stop of the American Stock Car Challenge that will take place at Infineon Raceway on October 7-9, 2005. Despite the high elevation of the track at St. Johns (over 8,000 ft), the Team was able to gather valuable data in terms of engine performance and suspension set ups. With only two weeks left before heading to Northern California, MGR Racing still has a dyno session in the works to fine tune the engine and obtain a new baseline for the rest of the season. While team owner and lead driver Manuel Gil del Real has spent the Summer training and honing his road race skills on a shifter kart, Adam Davis, Team's Crew Chief, has been busy making sure that the #27 Symbolic Ford Taurus stays in top shape for the two remaining races of the season. "Last year we won the main race at Infineon Raceway, and although this year the competition seems to be much harder, we are still aiming at a very good result there," said Adam Davis. On related news, NASA announced that the last race of the ASC calendar will not take place at Phoenix International Raceway as originally scheduled. Due to a conflict with NASCAR's scheduled race at PIR, the ASC race has moved to Buttonwillow Raceway Park, and it will take place on November 12-13, 2005.
